MTN Ghana Warns SMEs Against Sharing PINs Amid Digital Fraud Risks

MTN Ghana has cautioned small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) against sharing their PINs or responding to suspicious codes, links and calls, as businesses increasingly rely on digital and mobile financial services.

Speaking at an SME Capacity Building Programme in Sunyani, MTN Business Regional Sales Manager Eric Antwi urged entrepreneurs to take personal responsibility for protecting their digital accounts. He warned against fraudsters who request verification codes or send suspicious links, stressing that “security starts with you.”

The programme, organised in partnership with Graphic Business, also introduced SMEs to digital solutions including Adwumapa for women entrepreneurs and YellowBiz for establishing an online presence. MTN selected five participating businesses for further financial literacy training, coaching and mentorship.
