Ericsson Posts Strong Network Sales as AI-Driven Demand Supports Growth

Ericsson reported solid growth in its core networks business during the second quarter, with adjusted earnings before interest, taxes and amortisation (EBITA) reaching 6.88 billion Swedish kronor (US$709 million), slightly exceeding analysts’ expectations. The company said demand for its network equipment remained resilient despite higher component costs driven by the global AI data centre boom. Ericsson also noted that supply chain measures have helped mitigate the impact of rising memory chip costs.

The company continues to strengthen its position in the telecommunications market by focusing on network innovation and operational efficiency. Ericsson has maintained disciplined cost management while supporting telecom operators’ evolving connectivity needs. The results also mark the final quarterly earnings under CEO Börje Ekholm, who will hand over leadership to Per Narvinger at the end of September, positioning the company for its next phase of growth and continued investment in advanced network technologies.
