The Telecel Ghana Foundation has graduated 500 learners from the fourth cohort of its DigiTech Academy across five regions. The 12-week programme equips upper primary and junior high school students with practical skills in robotics, coding, web design and mobile app development.
The learners showcased more than 80 technology prototypes designed to address community challenges, including smart wheelchairs, fire alert systems, theft detection solutions, cleaning robots and mobile applications.
Launched in 2024, the programme has now reached approximately 2,800 learners nationwide, with girls accounting for about 70% of beneficiaries. The initiative is delivered in partnership with the Ghana Education Service and Ghana STEM Centre to promote digital skills and encourage young people to become technology creators and innovators.
