The National Communications Authority (NCA) has held a Pre-Application Briefing for prospective applicants seeking spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3 GHz mid bands.
The briefing, led by NCA Director General Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, provided stakeholders with clarification on the application and licensing process, including eligibility requirements, spectrum availability, coverage obligations and Significant Market Power (SMP) considerations.
The NCA said the spectrum is being made available to support the timely nationwide deployment of 5G services, improved connectivity and enhanced digital services.
Participants included Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) and Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) operators.
The initiative forms part of the NCA’s commitment to a transparent, fair and competitive licensing process that advances broadband connectivity and Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
