MTN Ghana has launched Season 8 of its flagship humanitarian programme, Heroes of Change, with the overall winner set to receive GH¢400,000, double the previous GH¢200,000 prize.
Launched at MTN House in Accra as part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebrations, the programme recognises Ghanaians whose selfless efforts are transforming lives and communities.
Since its launch in 2013, Heroes of Change has recognised more than 100 individuals, while the MTN Ghana Foundation has implemented over 178 major projects impacting approximately 5 million people.
MTN’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting individuals who create meaningful change in society.
The first runner-up will receive GH¢200,000, while each finalist will receive GH¢100,000. New special awards for sustainability and digital innovation, as well as recognition for nominators, have also been introduced.
MTN urged Ghanaians to nominate individuals making a difference through teaching, mentoring, healthcare, community development and other forms of service.
The initiative is being held under MTN’s 30th anniversary theme, “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You.”
