The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has warned jobseekers about a growing recruitment scam involving fake websites, SMS and social media messages impersonating legitimate government agencies and institutions.
The CSA said scammers are creating cloned websites to steal personal and sensitive information and are posing as recruiters and senior officials while advertising attractive, high-paying jobs. It cited fake recruitment offers linked to security and drone operations and false claims that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was charging fees for employment.
The Authority urged jobseekers to verify recruitment offers directly with the relevant institution before sharing personal, identification or financial information. It also identified poor grammar, spelling mistakes and unprofessional communication as possible warning signs and encouraged the public to report suspected cyber incidents to the CSA or Ghana Police Service Cybercrime Unit.
