MTN Ghana CEO joins Mahama’s investor pitch in New York

MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett joined President John Mahama’s investor engagements in New York, where Ghana presented its investment opportunities to international businesses and corporate executives. Blewett attended the Nasdaq closing-bell ceremony and the US-Ghana Presidential Roundtable alongside Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.

MTN Ghana’s financial performance provided a strong private-sector example during the engagements. Scancom PLC, which operates as MTN Ghana, recorded a 32.3 percent increase in service revenue to GH¢15 billion in the first half of 2026, while profit after tax rose to GH¢5.1 billion. The company also paid GH¢5.6 billion in direct and indirect taxes during the period.

The engagements formed part of Ghana’s efforts to attract international investment, with President Mahama appearing on a Times Square billboard carrying the message “Ghana is Open for Business.” MTN Ghana said it would continue supporting Ghana’s digital development. No investment commitments from this year’s New York meetings had been announced at the time of writing. Source : www.newsghana.com.gh
