Telecel Mobile Financial Services, operators of Telecel Cash, has launched FUNDiT, a crowdfunding platform designed to help individuals, groups and organisations raise funds for projects and causes.
Managing Director for Telecel Cash and Digital Transformation, Philip Amoateng, said FUNDiT aims to make fundraising seamless while providing users with a secure and transparent platform.
He said social causes are verified through supporting documents such as medical reports, school letters, community leader endorsements, photos and videos. Projects by organisations such as NGOs also undergo a two-step vetting process, including business registration verification and founder Know Your Customer (KYC) checks using the Ghana Card.
FUNDiT is open to users regardless of their mobile network or location. It supports fundraising for social and community causes, as well as weddings, funerals, family and alumni contributions, community projects and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Contributions can be made through all major mobile money networks, including Telecel Cash, as well as bank cards and other available local and international payment channels.
Absa Bank Ghana, FUNDiT’s banking partner, said the platform could help expand access to innovative financial solutions and support community-driven initiatives.
The platform was developed by AppsNmobile Solutions, a Ghanaian fintech company based in Accra and licensed by the Bank of Ghana as an enhanced payment service provider.
FUNDiT is now available to the public, with individuals, groups, businesses and organisations able to create campaigns or support causes through fundit.telecel.com.gh
