Telecel Ghana has commissioned a 42-unit computer laboratory at the University of Ghana to enhance digital learning, research and innovation. The fully equipped facility, which includes an 86-inch interactive touchscreen display and dedicated internet connectivity, forms part of the telecom operator’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s digital education ecosystem. The company has supported the university with connectivity services since 2010 and plans to further expand network capacity to meet growing digital learning needs.
Speaking at the commissioning, Telecel Ghana CEO Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai said the project reflects the company’s commitment to digital inclusion by providing students with access to the technology, skills and environment needed to thrive in a digital economy. University officials welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant boost to teaching, research and student development. The project reinforces Telecel Ghana’s broader investment in digital infrastructure, STEM education and skills development to help build a digitally empowered workforce in Ghana.
