Helios Towers has committed $150 million to expand mobile network coverage across Senegal, supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda. The investment was announced following a meeting between Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Helios Towers Group CEO Tom Greenwood.
The investment aligns with Senegal’s New Deal Technologique, which aims to provide reliable connectivity to 95% of the population, extend high-speed networks to underserved areas and promote infrastructure sharing. Helios Towers, which operated 1,479 sites in Senegal in Q1 2026, provides shared telecommunications infrastructure that enables mobile operators to expand coverage more efficiently.
The commitment comes as Senegal faces significant connectivity gaps, with 24% of localities lacking network coverage and only 52% having access to 4G, according to a 2025 government study. The planned investment is expected to help improve network availability, strengthen digital inclusion and support Senegal’s ambition to make digital technology a key driver of economic growth and social development.
