Telecel Ghana has selected 10 outstanding final-year female students from KNUST, the University of Ghana, the University of Cape Coast and the University of Mines and Technology for the 2026 cohort of its Female Engineering Students Scholarship Programme (FESSP). The initiative aims to increase female representation in STEM by supporting promising young women pursuing careers in engineering and technology.
The scholars will receive financial support for final-year tuition, laptops, data bundles, professional mentorship, internships and national service opportunities. Top-performing participants may also gain access to Telecel Ghana’s NextGen Graduate Programme and future employment opportunities. Launched in 2011, FESSP has supported more than 100 young women, many of whom have gone on to build careers in engineering and technology.
Telecel Ghana CEO Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai described the programme as an investment in Ghana’s future, encouraging the scholars to embrace learning, innovation and leadership. The company says FESSP will continue to help develop the next generation of female engineers and technology professionals while contributing to a more diverse and inclusive STEM ecosystem in Ghana.
