Ericsson and LG Uplus Partner to Advance AI-Native Networks and Voice AI Services

Ericsson and LG Uplus have deepened their strategic partnership to develop network-based voice AI solutions and accelerate the transformation toward AI-native networks. The collaboration combines LG Uplus’ commercial voice AI expertise, including its ixi-O AI call agent service, with Ericsson’s global network technology capabilities. The companies aim to create next-generation communication services that embed AI more deeply into network infrastructure, enabling smarter calling experiences, improved customer service and greater operational efficiency.

The partnership will explore opportunities including network-based voice AI services, intelligent and programmable networks, AI-driven network automation, improved energy efficiency and the evolution of 5G Standalone connectivity to support emerging AI services and devices. The two companies will also conduct technology validation across different cloud and network environments while exploring potential global business and commercialization models for voice AI.

As AI-powered services become increasingly integrated into everyday communications, Ericsson and LG Uplus believe mobile networks will evolve beyond traditional connectivity to become intelligent platforms that connect people, devices and AI capabilities. Through their collaboration, the companies aim to advance both “AI for Network” and “Network for AI” capabilities, helping communications service providers improve network performance, deliver more intuitive voice-led experiences and unlock new business opportunities in the growing AI era.
