MTN Uganda has strengthened maternal and newborn healthcare in underserved communities through its 2026 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, concluding the initiative at Karita Health Centre IV in Amudat District.
The intervention provided medical equipment and supplies, solar power systems and ICT tools to four health facilities. Village Health Teams also received bicycles and smartphones to improve mobility, communication and access to digital health services. The combined interventions were valued at more than Shs600 million.
At Karita Health Centre IV, which serves more than 40,000 people across Amudat and neighbouring communities, health workers received training in electronic medical records, while community health workers received digital skills training. The campaign also included medical screenings, health education and financial literacy sessions.
MTN Uganda said the initiative reflects its commitment to using technology, connectivity and partnerships to expand access to essential services, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
The campaign was implemented in partnership with government agencies, private-sector organisations and development partners under the theme “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community.” It is part of MTN Uganda’s broader Ambition 2030 strategy to support inclusive digital and social development.
