Huawei Begins Digital Skills Training for 100,000 Ghanaians

Huawei has begun a four-year initiative to train 100,000 Ghanaians in digital technologies under the government’s One Million Coders Programme (OMCP).

The training will cover Cloud Computing, Datacom, 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Security and Access Technologies, supporting efforts to build a skilled workforce for Ghana’s digital economy.

The programme began on August 31, 2026, with a Training of Trainers (ToT) session focused on Data Communication. Selected trainers are being equipped with technical and teaching skills so they can train more participants across the country.

Successful participants will receive joint certification from Huawei and the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MOCDTI) and can become certified OMCP trainers.

The initiative builds on Huawei’s existing digital skills programmes in Ghana, including Women in Tech, ICT Academy and Seeds for the Future.
