Huawei expects up to 900 billion AI agents to be active globally by 2035, with autonomous agents potentially accounting for more than 90% of global AI token traffic.
The company said the rapid growth of AI agents, which can perceive their surroundings, reason, make decisions and use external tools, will drive major increases in demand for computing power.
Huawei’s Intelligent World 2035: Turning Vision into Action report identifies security and privacy protection for autonomous agents among the technologies needed to support their widespread deployment.
Huawei is also developing AI-based cybersecurity solutions, including an autonomous security operations platform designed to detect and respond to cyber threats.
The company said expanding AI into the physical world will be important to the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI).
