The National Communications Authority (NCA) has reported significant voice and data disruptions across Ghana’s five northern regions and parts of the Oti Region following multiple fibre cuts affecting three transmission routes.
The damage has caused outages and service degradation across 2G, 3G and 4G networks, affecting several network sites. Technical teams from affected operators and the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) have been deployed to repair the damaged routes.
The NCA said restoration work is ongoing and that it is coordinating with network operators and relevant agencies to restore services as quickly as possible. The Authority apologised to affected customers and said further updates would be provided as repairs progress.
