Ericsson and Bahrain-based Beyon have extended their sustainability partnership to further improve network energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and promote circular economy practices. The collaboration will explore technologies such as zero-footprint sites, continue Ericsson’s E-Waste Programme and expand sustainability knowledge-sharing activities.
The companies said their work over the past two years has delivered measurable results. Batelco by Beyon’s network achieved up to 30% lower energy consumption through Ericsson’s 5G Radio Access Network products, with additional savings from AI-driven software and antenna solutions. The companies have also responsibly recycled 54 metric tons of end-of-life electronic and electrical equipment.
The extended partnership will focus on building on these achievements through further energy-saving technologies, responsible recycling and social impact initiatives. Both companies said the collaboration supports Beyon’s sustainability goals and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and net-zero ambitions.
