MTN Ghana Honours Entrepreneurs At Smega Awards

Ghana’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) took centre stage at the MTN SME Ghana Awards (SMEGA) 2026, with businesses across various sectors recognised for innovation, resilience, job creation, and their contribution to the country’s economy.

Held in Accra, the awards celebrated businesses that demonstrated excellence in agribusiness, manufacturing, retail, creative arts, product innovation, and sustainable enterprise.

Queen GAF Enterprise emerged as one of the night’s biggest winners, receiving the Overall Best SME of the Year Award, Women Entrepreneur Award, Agribusiness Value Addition and Market Award, and Consumer Products, Cosmetics, and Household Manufacturing Award.

Other winners included Markeinstein Africa Limited, Dress Up College of Fashion Ghana Ltd, Asheba Company Limited, Binas Prime Enterprise, DemiPearl Company Ltd, Dimbone Farm Gates Company Ltd, Ahodwo Farms Ltd, Extra Comfort Limited, Noble Signed Enterprise, Bubune Africa Limited, Excelsa Forestry Renewables Ghana Ltd, Yumzaa Women’s Association, Camelot Ghana PLC, L’Ainé Services Limited, Activity Limited and Citi FM.

MTN Ghana Chief Enterprise Officer Angela Mensah-Poku said the recognition reflected the potential of Ghanaian entrepreneurs to drive the country’s future economic growth. 

“The businesses that will define Ghana’s economy over the next decade may not be the largest businesses you know today. But they will be in this room — still small in size but big in ambition,” she said.

She said MTN Ghana remained committed to helping SMEs harness technology and other opportunities to improve productivity, reach customers and build sustainable businesses.

The awards followed a year-long SME Accelerate Programme, which provided participating businesses with training, ™ business clinics, pitching sessions and a mini-MBA programme.

Beyond the trophies, winners will receive comprehensive business insurance, further mini-MBA training, opportunities to meet international investors and a trade mission to Asia.

The package is designed to provide the businesses with practical support and exposure to help them strengthen their operations, explore partnerships and access new markets.The ceremony brought together entrepreneurs, business leaders, government officials, development partners and members of the media to celebrate the achievements of Ghana’s SME community.
