Huawei South Africa will host Huawei South Africa Connect 2026 on July 23 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, bringing together government officials, industry leaders and technology experts to examine how South Africa can prepare for the rise of agentic AI. The event will focus on the infrastructure required to support autonomous AI systems, including resilient networks, cloud platforms, data centres and advanced computing capabilities.
Huawei South Africa CEO Will Meng said the transition to an AI-driven economy will require collaboration between government, industry and innovators. The conference will feature discussions on trusted AI in the public sector, AI-driven power digitalisation, intelligent mining, financial services, transportation and enterprise networking, with a focus on using technology to improve economic growth, public services and industrial productivity.
The event will also feature a 2,500-square-metre exhibition showcasing Huawei’s latest AI-powered technologies and solutions through live demonstrations. Huawei said the conference aims to help South Africa address infrastructure gaps, strengthen local capabilities and build the digital foundations needed to turn AI ambitions into long-term economic growth and modernisation.
