MTN Ghana Strengthens Home Connectivity to Drive Digital Transformation

MTN Ghana says reliable home internet connectivity is becoming central to Ghana’s digital future as more people work, study, run businesses and access services online. Speaking at the company’s Bright Conversations event, Chief Home Officer Richard Acheampong said MTN’s Mission 2030 strategy, built around connectivity, fintech and infrastructure, places home connectivity among its key growth priorities.

The company is investing in fibre infrastructure to provide stable, high-quality internet access while supporting digital inclusion across the country. Acheampong said MTN’s planned US$1 billion investment over the next five years will strengthen fibre networks, expand coverage, modernise technology and improve service reliability. He stressed that reliable connectivity, rather than speed alone, is essential for supporting activities such as remote work, online education, cloud services, digital businesses and entertainment.

MTN Ghana also aims to simplify fibre subscription, payment and installation processes, with customers able to access services through digital platforms. Acheampong urged the media to help educate the public about the benefits and affordability of home broadband, while highlighting the potential of connected homes to support smart technologies, AI and other emerging digital services. He said continued investment in digital infrastructure will be critical to ensuring more Ghanaians participate in and benefit from the growing digital economy.
