Telecel Ghana Launches SecureNet Cybersecurity Service

Telecel Ghana has partnered with global cybersecurity firm Whalebone to launch SecureNet, a network-level security service designed to protect mobile customers from phishing, malicious websites and other online threats.

SecureNet provides real-time protection without requiring customers to install additional software. It can detect and block connections to known malicious websites, scam links, fraudulent shopping platforms and other harmful online destinations.

Telecel Ghana said the service is intended to provide customers with greater protection as mobile connectivity, digital banking, mobile money and online commerce continue to expand in Ghana.

The service is being deployed through Whalebone’s local partner, AntCellular, combining Telecel’s mobile network with cybersecurity technology and localised threat intelligence.

SecureNet is available to Telecel customers through subscription options of GH¢0.33 daily, GH¢2 weekly or GH¢7 monthly. Customers can subscribe by dialling *427#.

Telecel is also encouraging customers to complement the service with safe digital practices, including avoiding suspicious links, verifying requests for personal or financial information and using strong, unique passwords.
