More than 2,000 learners have been trained through the Telecel Ghana Foundation’s Connected Learning initiative, with the latest cohort graduating across five regions, including Yendi.
The 12-week after-school programme, delivered with the Ghana Education Service and Ghana STEM Centre, equips upper primary and junior high school pupils with skills in robotics, coding, web design and mobile app development.
Graduating teams developed more than 80 prototypes addressing community challenges, including smart wheelchairs, heartbeat monitors, automated fire extinguishers and floor-cleaning robots.
The programme began as a 50-pupil pilot in Ho Dome and has recorded strong female participation, with girls accounting for up to 70% of learners in some cohorts.
Telecel Ghana encouraged the graduates to continue developing their skills and using technology to create solutions for their communities.
