MTN Ghana Launches Smart Home Fibre Broadband Service

MTN Ghana has launched Smart Home, a new fibre broadband service designed to provide households with fast, reliable and stable internet connectivity. The service, announced by MTN Ghana Chief Home Officer Richard Acheampong during the company’s Bright Conversations forum in Accra, aims to support families, students, remote workers and entrepreneurs while helping households take greater advantage of Ghana’s growing digital economy.

Smart Home is designed to support multiple connected devices, including smart TVs, laptops, security cameras and gaming consoles. The service offers high-speed connectivity for streaming, gaming and video conferencing, alongside unlimited data options, low latency, simultaneous device support and dedicated customer service. MTN Ghana said the service will also help people working, studying and running businesses from home, particularly as e-commerce, fintech, content creation and online education continue to expand.

The rollout will initially focus on key urban centres in Accra and Kumasi, with plans to extend coverage to other regions in phases. MTN Ghana said it is investing in fibre infrastructure to expand access and make the service available to more households. The company believes Smart Home will contribute to Ghana’s digital transformation by enabling more people to work, learn, run businesses and access entertainment seamlessly from their homes.
